Jack’s most recent professional directing credit was 25 years ago as director and composer for Word Machine’s critically acclaimed ‘Book of Thoht”; a one act dance performance scored with sequenced and live poetry by David Duclos. Joan MacLeod’s “Jewel” promises to be nothing like that experience. Jack has been a professional stage, film and TV actor for over 35 years and has performed in 6 seasons at the Blyth Festival. He met Rebecca Auerbach in 2008, appearing with her in the Charlottetown Festival production of David Scott’s, The Ballad of Stompin’ Tom. Since then, Jack has appeared with Rebecca in 5 productions at Blyth Festival Theatre; Pigeon King, Mr. New Year’s Eve: A Night With Guy Lombardo, If Truth Be Told, Our Beautiful Sons: Remembering Matthew Dinning, and Dear Johnny Deere. Also for Blyth Festival, Jack was a member of the collectives that created and performed, Death of the Hired Man, and, Barndance Live! at the turn of the century. Last October Jack appeared with Rebecca in 4th Line Theatre’s Bedtime Stories and Other Horrifying. Currently, under the umbrella of their creative partnership ‘The Kitchen Table Common’, he co-creating a Christmas show with Rebecca for 4th Line Theatre and, their Country Roots band “Regal Road’ is in development. Jack is honoured to be directing Ms. Auerbach in Jewel on Blyth’s beautiful new Harvest Stage.
