Actor, director, playwright, collaborator, Gil has been with the Blyth Festival in some capacity or other since 1999. Outstanding shows over the years have included: The Donnellys: A Trilogy, Death of the Hired Man, The Drawer Boy, The Outdoor Donnellys, World Without Shadows, Pearl Gidley, The Nutalls, A Killing Snow, the Last Donnelly Standing, The Pigeon King, In the Wake of Wettlaufer. Gil has been artistic director since 2014, and lives on a little farm in Central Huron with his wife and four beautiful children.

James MacDonald

 James is a director, actor, and theatre educator who has worked at and played in many theatres across Canada. In Ontario his directing credits include Julius Caesar (Stratford Festival), The Old Ladies (Shaw Festival), The Buddy Holly Story (Thousand Islands Playhouse), and several productions at Canadian Stage. He has been involved in the development of over 50 new Canadian Plays, including GLORY, which played at Drayton in 2019 as part of a cross-Canada tour. James is the artistic director at Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, where he has directed 12 productions, including Jesus Christ Superstar, The Drowning Girls, Grease, and Sleight of Mind. He is the former Associate AD at the Citadel Theatre, where he directed or acted in 24 productions over 10 years. He feels very privileged to work at Blyth in the 50th Anniversary season on this beautiful play by Gil Garratt.

Troy Slocum

Troy is a sound designer and electronic music composer. He has created original music and sound design for over 50 theatrical productions and numerous films.

Recent credits include: sound design and composition for the Shaw Festival’s Blithe Spirit, music supervision and sound design for the CBC Gem series, The Bannocking, and sound design and composition for Centaur Theatre’s Thy Woman’s Weeds, by Erin Shields.

 Troy received the Jessie Richardson Theatre Award for his work on The Pipeline Project (ITSAZOO/SavageSociety Theatre).

 Saving Graceland is Troy’s debut at Blyth. He is honoured to be part of the Festival’s 50th season, and thrilled to contribute to this show!

Jennifer is honoured to be working on three new productions for Blyth’s 50th season! Jennifer has been fascinated with the language of clothes since she was a teenager and the study of clothing is her passion. She is a designer, educator, creator and purveyor of costume and fashion.  Jennifer is the owner of Pick a Posie Vintage – just down the street at the corner of Wellington and Queen.
