For Blyth Festival, Mark has appeared in Vimy, Bed and Breakfast, and Chase the Ace. Blyth has premiered three of his plays as a writer: Stag and Doe, The Birds and the Bees, and The New Canadian Curling Club, and has also produced Bed and Breakfast and Chase the Ace. His newest play, The Gig, premiered at Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius in March. His plays have been produced extensively in Canada and around the world in Australia, New Zealand, Poland, England, and the United States. Closer to home, The New Canadian Curling Club is on stage this summer at Drayton Festival Theatre and Huron Country Playhouse, and Bed and Breakfast plays at Lighthouse Festival Theatre and Orillia Opera House. As an actor, Mark has performed at theatres from coast to coast. Most recently, he spent over a year performing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with Mirvish Productions in Toronto. Mark grew up on his family’s beef farm near Glencoe and now lives in Stratford. He’s happy to be back at Blyth, working on Matt’s play with Miles and this great cast and creative team.

Murray Furrow

Murray (he/him) is thrilled to be making his Blyth debut.

Originally from North Bay, Ontario, he has performed across the country.  Some favourites include Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Festival of Classics, Oakville), Pumbaa in The Lion King (Mirvish, Toronto), and Danny M1 in last years smash hit The Antipodes (Coal Mine Theatre, Toronto). On tv, he did four seasons as Dr. Lasky in 12 Monkeys, one season as Syd in The Umbrella Academy, and will next be seen as a guest star on season 4 of The Boys. As a playwright, Murray had his first play, Our House, debut at the Port Stanley Festival last summer.

Amy Keating

Amy is tickled pink to be making her Blyth Festival debut. She (she/her) is a Toronto-based actor originally hailing from Treaty 6 territory in the Prairies. She works in both theatre and film and is a three-time Dora Mavor Moore nominated actor. She is a founding member and associate artist of Outside the March. OtM credits include: The Flick; Mr. Burns; TomorrowLove; Passion Play; Mr. Marmalade. Other fave theatre credits: Cathleen in Long Day’s Journey Into Night (Stratford Festival); Laura in The Glass Menagerie (Grand Theatre); Jessica in Hand to God (Coal Mine Theatre); Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest (Capitol Theatre). Sam Malkin

The year was 1979 the place was Blyth ON when Sam Malkin had one of his first gigs and appeared on the Blyth stage in Child and This Foreign Land. It was such a success that the festival had to have Sam back in 2010 for Pearl Gidley and The Killing Snow. Between those dates Sam has appeared on stages from Vancouver to Montreal, from Winnipeg to Regina. Doing a variety of shows from Greek tragedy to Canadian comedy. Shows of note were Jitters, La Cumunion Victoria Station, Eternal Hydra. Sam has also been in TV and film, ranging from: VideoDrome to Old Fashioned Thanksgiving. Much appreciation to Blyth Festival.

Severn is an actor, director, theatre creator and associate artistic director for the Blyth Festival.  She began acting with the Blyth young company and has since worked in theatres across the country as well as in a variety of tv/film.  Acting credits include Elle (Theatre Passe Muraille & tour), Seeds (Blyth Festival), and several seasons at the Shaw and Stratford Festivals. Blyth directing credits include: Fair Play, Pigeon King, and Wing Night at the Boot.
