Dry Streak
By Leeann Minogue
Canadian Classic | Contemporary Comedy
June 17 – August 16 | Opens June 19
Dry Streak is a wildly funny comedy about belief, belonging, and the pressures of small-town life.
It’s the scorching summer of 1988. The Richards family have owned their farm for generations and son John returns home, but not alone. His new girlfriend, Kate is something this town didn’t even know existed: a punk-rock-loving, vegetarian city girl who isn’t in a rush to get married.
The rain won’t come, crops are failing, and as hope dries up, Kate makes a hilarious and reckless pledge: if the rains finally fall, she’ll run naked through town.
Dry Streak explores what happens when private desperation becomes public spectacle.
Saskatchewan playwright and grain farmer Leeann Minogue revisits her celebrated hit in a fresh new revision for Blyth — just in time for another long, hot summer.

For Blyth: Debut
What a great way to celebrate 50 years as a professional actor, being invited to be part of the Blyth Festival.
My pro acting days started in the UK. Returning home to Canada, I’ve played parts across the country; including 10 seasons/Stratford Festival and 14 seasons/Shaw Festival. There were forays southerly to New York and Washington D.C. TV/film roles, plus many animation voices. Two great kids, great life partner. And now Blyth as a bonus.
